The scene was set on Sunday for the Division 3 men to take destiny into their own hands. Sitting in 2nd place on the ladder, facing the undefeated Sun City on their course, with Lakelands breathing down their necks in third. A win and finals was guaranteed, a loss ran the risk of being overtaken by Lakelands.
Well, the boys decided to make a day if it and take the game on, putting in the performance of the season beating the home team 5 ½ – 1 1/2 .
Brendon Jones was out first playing number 7 and managed a valuable half point. Keeden Nelles went down 2/1 on the 17th playing at number 4.
From then on it was just a cakewalk with Tristan Geerlings, Alister Miles, Anthony Joseph, Callum White and Gav Parker winning their matches before the last hole. The result means Nedlands remained undefeated throughout the season, only halving to Lakelands earlier in the season.
We now move onto the final, again playing Sun City, this Sunday with the first match teeing off at Wanneroo GC at 7.15am. The boys would appreciate any support from members.
