WOMEN’S DIVISION 3 FINAL
The Women’s Division 3 Final saw Nedlands take on the previously undefeated WA Golf Club at Melville Glades.
It was an extremely close affair and midway through the last nine 2 matches were square and Nedlands had 2 players 1 up, 1 player 2 up and WA Golf Club had one match “in the bank”.
Cath Bellemore’s score was not known but Nedlands had the upper hand leading 4/2.
Rhonda Moore, Carolyn Browne, and Patricia Noske held their composure over the concluding holes to win by narrow margins. Vanessa Stephen went down at the last hole and Karen Bond came flying home winning holes 12 to 14 to seal the deal with a convincing 5/4 victory to ensure the team returns to Division 2 in 2024.
Cath Bellemore who had beaten her opponent 5/4 in the qualifying rounds had the tables reversed and went down 4/2.
Never the less Cath had an excellent year and will be looking forward to leading the team to victory in 2024 in Division 2.
Congratulations girls on a well-deserved victory. Celebrate in style.
EDITOR’S NOTE – Hopefully the Men can follow the lead of the Women and return to Division 2 in 2024.

Dave Southam and John Venner squared their matches. John was 3 down with 3 to play and fought back for his square.
Round 2 will be played at home against Wanneroo (who had a convincing first round 6/1 victory) next Sunday commencing at 12.30.
