We are pleased to inform you that Golf Australia has been advised by the Office of the Federal Minister for Sport that golf can continue to be played in line with all social distancing and other restrictions advised to date.
We are continuing to follow guidance from Golf Australia and Golf WA and will be taking the following additional measures to support the playing of both competition and social golf, recognising the situation may continue to change.
- Men’s competition golf on Wednesday and Saturday will continue with reduced fields (3 per group) at 10 minute intervals and no 6th tee starting groups
- Ladies’ competition golf on Tuesday and Thursday will continue with 3 per group at 10 minute intervals
- No competitions on Fridays and Sundays – social play only at 10 minute intervals
- Social play at all other times with 3 per group at 10 minute intervals
- Social players to register on the on-line tee sheet before playing
- Players to arrive at the club no earlier than 10 minutes before tee-off
- No congregating around the pro-shop, practice green or 1st tee
- Only one group to be on the tee at any time
- One group only on the practice putting green whilst the group in front is teeing-off
- Leave the club straight after your game
- Competition fee payments from your house account
Our decision to continue to run competitions and social play is based on:
- Golf WA is supporting the continuation of club competitions if clubs can implement appropriate social distancing measures;
- we are a nine hole club with comparatively small starting and finishing fields (further reduced by the above measures);
- our experience from running competitions this week;
- the measures implemented in the previously published Player Advice and message from the President; and
- our expectation that members will demonstrate best practice in social distancing.
We ask you to familiarise yourself with the measures being taken by the Club and to make your own assessment as to whether to play or when to play.
We will continue to make the course available whilst complying with government directives and following guidance from Golf Australia and Golf WA.
We are also well aware of the measures taken by other WA Clubs and have taken their actions into consideration when making decisions for the playing of golf at our Club.
