A member of the Nedlands Golf Club since 1974, Fran held numerous positions on the Committee, most notably as Ladies Captain in 1984 and 1985, Ladies President in 1991, 1992 and again in 2006 to 2007. She was also the Ladies Club Champion in 1986 and 1990. Fran was honoured with a Life Membership in 1999.
Fran was for many years was involved in both Women’s Golf WA and Women’s Golf Australia, serving as State President of Women’s Golf WA for five years, from 1995 – 2000 inclusive. During that time she was also a member of the Women’s Golf Australia Board, which met regularly in Melbourne. Fran was honoured with an Australian Sports Medal for her voluntary work assisting the sport of golf, which stretched over many years, and WA Golf is the richer for all her efforts.
