In the previous month within the WA amateur golfing calendar there have been multiple events that our young Nedlands golfing prodigies have been participating in and they have done a great job of representing the Nedlands Golf Club.
On the 17th of November young gun Kayne Wardell won the annual Kwinana Cup with a gross round of 72 to beat a sizable field of 177 players and this included a very hot front nine with only 11 putts, this put Kayne’s score as -4 under par through 9 holes. After making the turn, he then proceeded to bogey the next 5, before finishing with three pars and a birdie on the 18th to win the event by 2 strokes. Well done Kayne. After this fine effort at Kwinana, only week later Kayne followed this fine effort with a 5th place in The Vines Amateur Open.
Not to be outmatched, our ground staff worker Harrison Traylen beat an impressive field at the Sun City Open on Sunday the 2nd of December with a gross score of 69 to become the winner of the event and this excellent score was enough hoist the overall trophy. Well done Harry.
Kayne also placed well in this event finishing 8th with a gross score of 73 to finish 8th Gross and 17th Nett overall, this was after losing a ball on the first hole. Well done to both boys!
