Dear Member,

As many of you will be aware the last six months have been challenging on the domestic front, with Francesca being diagnosed with the cancer Sarcoma.

This led me to take an extended break in March and April.

I returned late April but it was apparent that I could not give one hundred percent to the job, and it is a busy little job, contrary to what some people think.

I tendered my resignation last week and was very happy to help out until a new person can jump into the big chair. However, the Committee felt that it was best in everyone’s interest not to take up this offer.

Both Francesca and I would like to thank all those members who have her best interests in your thoughts. You have been kind in the extreme.

I’ve enjoyed my time at Nedlands and yes, I have traded in my Victorian passport, as one member enquired a number of years ago.

Nedlands, like all club based environments faces challenges, but things tend to have a way of figuring themselves out. Remember – don’t sweat the small things in life.  I’ve learnt that finally!

So farewell and hopefully I will get the odd game in for a change. If you have any loose coin in the back pocket looking for a new home, feel free to donate it to www.sockittosarcoma.org.au

Take care and be nice to each other.

Cheers

Damian
