“Well, we have made it through another year, and are now rapidly approaching x-mas and the holiday season.

For some of us we look forward to the next couple of weeks as an opportunity to wind down, spend time with loved ones, enjoy a good book, and generally just take it easy. Good luck to you.

Others approach this time of year with a heightened sense of dred as extended families swarm (or worse move in!) to share the festive spirit- the constant vigilance required can be exhausting. Good luck to you too.

For our part we shall be housing my brother’s family from Queensland (with a 6 and 8 year old) for the next few weeks, followed by my wife’s parents from the UK, and her Sister shortly thereafter. No rest until mid February for the Watkins!

It has been a busy year for the club with some significant changes that I think we have navigated as well as we could have hoped for. It is pleasing to see the greens starting to come back so quickly following the recent coring, and with the carpark resurfacing completed I head into 2023 with a sense of optimism that we are moving in the right direction.

As always, the volunteers have worked tirelessly for the betterment of the club and surrounds, and we thank all of them for their efforts.

The search for a new GM is well underway and we have a number of highly credentialled candidates. We will look to finalise an appointment by the end of January if possible.

Finally, from the committee, the staff and myself- We hope everyone has a great Christmas, enjoys their break, keeps their sanity intact, and recharges their batteries for a great 2023”

Kind regards,

Damon Watkins
