COVID 19 – 9 April Golf Management Update
Playing Update
The current tee sheet formats and timings have worked very well this week with capacity or near capacity fields each day.
We must continue to be vigilant and avoid congregating around the clubhouse on arrival, for practice and post game. It is difficult to overcome the urge to stop and talk to fellow members, however it only takes a few moments for a small group to form. Whilst the gathering may only be brief, it does expose us to unwanted scrutiny from passersby.
We must also be vigilant on our social distancing. Whilst for most parts of the game players are very well spaced, we need to be conscious of our spacing on the tee boxes and whilst entering and exiting the teeing areas. Please remain well spaced at all times.
Tee Sheet Restrictions and Opening Times
The following tee sheets will open at 11:00 AM tomorrow (Friday 10 April) and thereafter we will open tee sheets 6 days in advance. The change from 8 days to 6 days is to give us the opportunity to assess each day’s play before releasing the next tee sheet. Where necessary, we will continue to make changes to tee sheets.

18 and 9 Hole Time Slots
Playing in groups of 2 with increased time gaps between groups imposes a significant restriction on the number of 18 hole groups we can fit on the course and the 18 hole groups impose a further restriction on the total number of players we can fit into a day’s play. As previously stated, balancing 18 hole and 9 hole golf requires compromise.
Please try and limit your number of 18 hole games per week in the interest of fairness for all members. The busiest times for 18 hole golf are currently Wednesday and Saturday. Some clubs are now imposing limits on the number of times people can play each week. We have elected to not introduce a restriction at this stage, however we will continue to monitor the fields and waiting lists.
Your co-operation is appreciated.
Use of the Mi-Score App and Posting of Scores to the Leaderboard
We are continuing with our decision to not run organised competitions or submit cards for handicapping.
In the interim, to create interest amongst players during social play we encourage players to use the Mi Score app to electronically score their rounds and post their scores to the daily Leaderboard.
This app is available for download via the app store. Select Nedlands as your home club and confirm with the pro-shop you are registered for scoring each time you play.
Using the Mi Score app you can only mark another player’s card, so if you want your score posted to the leaderboard your playing partner will also need to use the app.
Use of this app may play a part in our decision to introduce competition golf and handicapping at some point in the near future, so it will be beneficial for members to gain experience in its use and have a bit of fun at the same time.
