A record 41 entries teed it up at Nedlands Golf Club hoping to make their way to the PGA Professional Championship Final in November on beautiful Hamilton Island.
Four spots were on offer for WA’s qualifying round with Dave Andrews winning honours on the first playoff hole over regular Hamilton Island visitor Vernon Sexton-Finck, both shooting 3 under 69.
Third spot went to Gavin Reed who recorded a great 2-under 70.
Four players headed to a playoff to determine who would secure the final spot. Dave Stoltze, Rob Panincic, Katelyn Must and Troy Murphy were all tied on 1 under par 71. Troy Murphy was victorious with the sole birdie and booked his ticket to the popular island Championship.
