New machinery on the course! ⛳️
We’ve recently welcomed two additions to our greenkeeping fleet - a @toroaus electric greens mower, perfectly suited to our new green surfaces, and a Toro 4WD HDX utility replacing a loyal 20-year-old model. These upgrades will help our team continue maintaining the course to the highest standard. 🌿

Starting to hit some milestones now with the 2nd green consolidated and compacted. This is the final stage before the shaper comes in to smooth off the surface ready for seeding.
The two par 3’s are closer to completion including the fairway improvements. We will be starting the new surrounding irrigation on 1, 3, 7 & 8 on Monday before they can be consolidated to get to the same stage as the 2nd.
Final shaping of all surfaces is expected to occur the week of the 20th – 24th October with seeding occurring from the 27th. Then the waiting game!
We have couch turf coming in to replace the extensive fairway adjustments on 3, 7 and 8 which will happen during the greens grow-in period. Other tasks to occur will be the filling of new bunkers on 3 and 8 and the replacement of sand in existing greenside bunkers on 1 and 2. The new 7th doesn’t have any bunkers in the new design.

The final concept for the 8th is starting to become clearer, larger green and one bunker to the roadside. Mounding will push water away from the green and bunker during heavy downfalls to stop the washouts we had so many times this year.
The 3rd and 7th continue with significant earthmoving, both holes being designed to have a more visible green surface from the tees.

Today has been a consolidation of the work on the 1st & 2nd greens as the new sand was delivered and roughly shaped.
Some more earthworks have occurred on the 8th and the start of the 3rd as their rebuilds take shape.
The course has been setup for the monthly medal tomorrow; the temp greens are still raw but will improve rapidly with this weather.
The new safety fence on the 8th tee will be finished by this evening.
And just for good measure Optus turned up to work on the phone tower, lucky for them they didn`t need to dodge golf balls today!
New Temporary Local Rules come into effect for tomorrow, these can be seen on the new website.

Day 3 - see day 1 & 2 and repeat!
The 1st & 2nd greens have both been finalised for the base shape and will have the new sand laid on top.
The two par`s 3`s have both started their complete redevelopments and will continue to take shape over today and tomorrow, as will the 8th. These three greens have the most redevelopment, but we will see the evolution of the new design concepts very soon.
Tree trimming continues while contractors have access to the course, as does coring.
But fear not, play will resume on Saturday for the monthly medal!

Day 2 has included work to the base of 1 & 2, more earthworks for 7 & 8. 50% of fairways have been cored, tees scarified, the trees on the left of 8 trimmed and a new fence going around the 8th tee. It`s been busy!
